Manisa & The Aegean Sunshine

Our raisins originate from the world-famous vineyards of Manisa and Izmir. Harvested in late August, the grapes are dipped in a potassium carbonate solution to accelerate drying and preserve their light color, then laid out under the hot sun. This natural process locks in the flavor and creates the distinctive texture of Turkish Sultanas.

PROCESSING & SAFETY

Double Washed & Laser Sorted

Food safety is paramount. Our raisins undergo a rigorous cleaning process: destoning, cap-stem removal, washing, and Laser Sorting (Sortex) to remove all foreign material. They are then lightly coated with vegetable oil (sunflower/cottonseed) to prevent clumping, making them free-flowing and ready for automated production lines.

What Makes Turkish Sultanas Unique?

Turkish Sultanas, derived from the “Sultaniye” seedless grape variety, are the gold standard. Unlike dark raisins, Turkish Sultanas are pre-treated (dipped) before sun-drying, preserving the light golden color and softer texture.

Understanding the Grading System

The grading is primarily based on color. Type 9 is the standard light brown grade for retail. Type 10 & 11 are premium bright golden yellow berries chosen for high-end confectionery.
